How to

How to make a fake tweet in five steps.

  1. Pick the look. X, Threads or Bluesky, in light or dark.
  2. Fill in who posted it. A name, a handle, a profile photo and, if you want, a badge.
  3. Write the post. Links, @names and hashtags turn blue the way each site shows them. Add a picture if the post has one.
  4. Set the numbers. Replies, reposts and likes, plus the time, the views and the bookmarks on X. Leave a number at 0 to hide it.
  5. Download it. You get a sharp PNG, twice the size it shows here, or copy it straight into a slide or a chat.

Uses

What people make with it.

Mockups

Slides, landing pages and ads that need a post in them, without a real account.

Examples

A tutorial or an article that shows a good reply and a bad one, side by side.

Drafts

A look at your own post before it goes out. For where the text wraps on each site, try the tweet preview.

Jokes

A made-up post for a group chat, with your friends’ blessing.

Use it fairly

A picture of a post isn’t a post.

A made-up post with a real person’s name and photo can spread fast and fool people. X, Threads and Bluesky all have rules against pretending to be someone else.

So use your own name or a made-up one, and when you share the picture, say it’s a mockup.

Real replies, in your own voice.

Twick drafts replies right under the post, with 100% no AI slop. You pick one and post it yourself.

FAQ

Fake tweets, answered.

Is this fake tweet generator free?

Yes. No sign up, no watermark, and no limit on how many pictures you make.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The profile photo and the picture you choose are read in your browser and drawn on the page. Nothing is sent to Twick or anywhere else.

Can I make a fake Threads or Bluesky post?

Yes. Switch the look to Threads or Bluesky, and the layout, the icons and the badge change to match.

Can I add a verified badge?

Yes: a blue, gold or gray check on X, and the blue check on Threads and Bluesky.

What size is the picture?

1,200 pixels wide, twice the size it shows on the page, as a PNG, and as tall as the post needs.

Can I make a post look like someone else’s?

Please don’t. A made-up post with a real person’s name and photo can fool people, and X, Threads and Bluesky all have rules against pretending to be someone else. Use your own name or a made-up one, and say it’s a mockup when you share it.

Does it show the picture the way X really does?

Close to it: the same layout, colors and kind of icons, drawn by Twick. Fonts can differ a little, because each computer draws text with its own.
